They've remade the 1975 Bollywood blockbuster "Jai Santoshi Maa".

This was one of the most famous Bollywood movies of all time and tells the story of the Hindu Goddess Santoshi Maa, an emblem of love, contentment, forgiveness, happiness and hope.

She was not a very well known deity but the film gave birth to a cult of followers, mainly north Indian Hindus, especially women.

She is the daughter of Ganesh, the elephant headed god of Luck.

When Ganesh's sister came to tie a Rakhi on him for Raksha Bandhan, Ganesh's son became saddened that he did not have a sister to tie a Rakhi on him.
In an attempt to console his son, and with his cosmic powers, Ganesh and his two wives Riddhi and Siddhi gave birth to a daughter, Santoshi, from the palm of his hand.

It is believed that fasting for her for 16 consecutive Fridays brings whilst obstaining from sour food and praying to her brings peace and prosperity in ones family, and the fulfilment of all wishes.

The trailer for the new film looks so good, I can't wait to see it!
