One of those days...

"Right, sorry to keep you waiting, would you like to come this way."

Ha! Your sorry?! 'Bout bloody time!

----- 40 minutes before -----

"Yes, if you'd like to take a seat, some one will see you in about 5 to 10 minutes okay."

----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----

I had attempted to close the YE business account at the worlds local bank but ended up sitting, waiting, and watching my lunch hour being eaten away. (haha)
I wasnt amused at the time. And neither was my stomach. What a morning, woke up late, no breakfast, straight to the docs for a jab (more on that kerfuffle later) and then a driving lesson where i stalled 3 times!

I managed to get out of the bank, cheque in hand, with 2 milliseconds until my lesson started, meaning i had to run half way through the city centre in a suit, looking like a right prat.

----- At the Doctors -----

Memories of my first Hep. B jab (required for prospective med students) - the nurse just stabs it in without warning, and then tells me off for having my arm tensed...

"Why you tensed? It going to hurt now. I thought you were relaxed, 'cos you were talking, it going to hurt you now."

- Of course im going to be tense when i know your about to stab a needle in me! I didnt even get a warning...And it would help if you spoke English...buffoon!

Imagine my joy when i find out its the same nurse for my second jab...

"Honestly, with people like them, it makes you worry they're going to inject
you with the wrong thing!"

Having read the box (making sure it was a Hep. B vaccine), and remaining as relaxed as a flat tyre throughout, i thought maybe it was just a bad day the first time round...until i enquired when to book the appointment for my 3rd (and final thank god!) jab...

"When should i book the appointment for my next jab?"

- "I told you last time this, i gave you that piece of paper"
"Yeah i know, i forgot"
- "I wrote it on that piece of paper"
"I know, i lost it, how long till i should have my next jab"
- "I cant remember all the details, you need to find it"
"But how long is the gap between the 2nd and 3rd jab in general"
- "5 months"

Could'nt you just have said that in the first place!

Roll on March!

The Aesthetics

One of my main interests is design.
Product, fashion, interior, architecture...anything that is aesthetically pleasing.

There are some really funkystylish places on the web which im going to share with you in the sidebar - the aesthetics.

Having had to redo the interiors of our house recently, i learnt that its quite a demanding task, but also quite fun.
So much time and decision making is involved, and of course you have to trail around to every shop in the city to have a look at the same thing over and over again, like when choosing the carpets -

"Now do we want Corn Syrup, Maize, Wheat Crop or Harvest?"
- "They're all the same bloody colour!"

Aarrgg! And dont even get me started on the paints! Trying to colour scheme a whole house is a nightmare, i'v been subjected to the Dulux catalogue so many times, i could probably name every colour off the top of my head.

But its all worth it, especially when you see the end results.

Green tea

Im so so tired.
Just went for a walk, and now about to go to sleep, just got to finish this mug full.

I really like walks, its so relaxing just walking with no where urgent to be or anything to do. Something that many urbanites dont get a chance to do that often. Gives you space to think about things and time to reflect. I went around the block, quite a big block. Some of the houses i passed were amazing, so grand and beautiful. Mansions. Long stretching drive-ways. All old country english style. I want to buy my favourite when im older and rich. Leaves me in awe everytime i pass it.

"Yawn"

I miss woods and the countryside. Living in a city makes you appreciate nature more i think. I guess its a case of wanting more what you cant have. Grass is always greener on the other side and all that....well, anything is greener than concrete!

Am i rambling?

I heard owls! Hoot hoot, in the trees, cool and a lil spooky. Got dripped on too, tying to dodge the water-soaked leaves overhead. And there was also this overhanging bush, with branches trailing but a gap in the middle. Thought i could just squeeze through...but no, slapped with slimy wet leaves on each cheek.
Lovely.

Ok i am rambling,
Night night.

Golden

Came into my room and noticed a CD for Wanadoo broadband on my desk. Looked at it and smiled. A gold envelope with the phrase "silence is golden" on it.

Hehe, thats something i havent said in a while.
Something i used to say all the time.

Hey S, and thank you,
wherever you are.

WinterAutumnLove

Yes! Its so cold! Love it!

Wearing my maroon hoody, mug of Bali filter in one hand, looking out the window.

The trees are ablaze, orange brown flames lick the bony branches, crisp autumn leaves scattered on the ground. Weak autumn sun illuminates the apple tree at the bottom of my garden, the remaining jewels of its crimson bounty appearing even more alluring.

I take a sip and sit back down.

I think i love September.
The beginning of a new academic year. My birthday on the 15th, the start of autumn, and the run down to winter. This time of year is so great, as the days draw in and the nights grow longer, so come the festivals. First Navaratri, then Bonfire night, Halloween/Samhain, Diwali, and finally Christmas.

Soon i'll have to step out of the house in the mornings, coated and scarved.
Can imagine it now, wind biting at my ears, seeing my own breath, hearing the crunch of crisp leaves that line the cobbles underfoot.

Mug warm in my hands, coffee smells so yummy, sip some more.

I hope it snows this year.
Love it, snowing outside, white winter wonderland, and me curled up on the sofa, fire going, flames licking the grate. Room illuminated by soft uplighting and the christmas tree. And christmas TV.

Set iRiver to play "Peggy Lee - Winter Wonderland"

I think i love December.

Limbo

Well thats it. Uni applications done.

Handed the second form in today, finalised neat copy.
Sent the other last week, should be processed soon.

No going back. Just have to sit and wait, and hope, and prepare.
It was stressful, but im not going rant on about that, and no, its not really a load off my mind because im still worrying...what if i dont get any calls for interview? Or i mess them up? Or i dont get any offers? Or i dont make the grades?!
"Well whats done is done, no point worrying - just prepare and wait" interrupts the voice in my head - reason.
"Worry is like a rocking horse - it gives
you something to do but gets you nowhere"
My uncle taught me that - and its so true. Guess im going to follow his advice, and follow one of my own mantras - "Prepare for the worst, and hope for the best"
If they dont accept me, theres always next year, but i wont give up - Medicine is the only thing i want to do.
Sigh and smile...i can do this.

Azuric on Fuji-san

Posted by Picasa

Me on Mt. Fuji, Japan
This pic was taken on the way down, very early in the morning, im still quite near the summit - still above the clouds.
We (sister, cousin, and friends) started climbing at 9pm and reached the summit at about 3am - just in time to see the sunrise (yes thats right, we climbed the mountain, at night, in the dark.)
It was quite funny really, in Japan they have these "100 Yen" shops selling almost everything - a bit like our Pound shops in the UK, and we decided to buy our mountain climbing kit from here - big mistake! Not even an hour into the climb and the flashlights are falling to pieces - litterally, springs and batteries and bulbs flying all over the place with cries of exasperation and of things that really cant be posted here!

It was harder climbing down Fuji than going up believe it or not, well.....at least me sliding half way down the mountain provided comedy for the rest! I gotta dash off now, sorry for the abruptness, will add more when i get some time
